Interesting things are afoot.

Posted in Warhammer- Online on January 19, 2009 by theerivs

Raegn over at Fires of War conducted an email interview of Paul Barnett. I wanted to thank them both, it’s nice to know to have the support of the company that made the product you so lovingly support. Would I get that support if I blogged about Cheese, I don’t think so.   Also Keen and Graev got an interesting package and the WAR world is abuzz.  They say the Dwarf Slayer is coming. Which I hope so….more Skulls for the Skull throne I say, more Blood for the Blood god.

So I’m excited it’s an interesting time for WAR, and end of January looks like it won’t let us down, but Mythic please oh please don’t forget to keep tweaking things. Open RvR still needs some help, Itemzation for Chosen need some help.

The results for the Greenies are in. I wanted to thank everyone that voted for me. We’ll get them next year. Also I wanted to congratulate all the winners. You guys and gals work hard for the community, and you deserve all the recognition you deserve.

Speculation, Divination, Conflagration.

Sorry not much to write about, I was learning about the new features of Windows Server 2008,  I’m intrigued by the new Virtualization stuff.  But I wanted to get one thought down….the Ex

Speculation :  Mark Jacobs mentioned an expansion, little too soon to tell what the hell it could be, but might want to correct some things with the current game before introducing an expansion…but that’s just me.

Divination : I expect at some time a 3rd army, or maybe some more races. I would hope a 3rd army of maybe Undead, Skaven, and Tomb Kings or something along those lines. I really liked the 3 army set up of DAOC…then again I’m an old ass man.

Conflagration : Is to burn up, I don’t know I just was possessed by Jackie Chiles for a second….Who told you to put the balm on???

Better bring your “A” game peeps, I’m planning to right a story that will bring tears to Greg’s eyes. Tears of Joy he read something so good. LOL!.

Center Bastion Stair, and a special thanks.

Posted in Warhammer- Online on January 15, 2009 by theerivs

Well no rest for the wicked, last night my alliance put together a Center Bastion Stair run. I have to thank especially though Makhra THEE DOK, and the people from Jaded Souls.  He was a patient, and good leader. Laying out the plans, and making sure the raid went well. He also made sure that people were up to speed on the quests. We jammed out alot of PQ’s and got some good loot, I’m surprised people don’t do it more often. Then after running the PQ’s we broke up into smaller groups to knock out the bosses.  I was a offtank, and I believe with my new spec, I don’t know for sure but with Embrace the Winds I hope I was a easier for the healer to heal.  On the bosses what really helped the Zealot, i think it was the zealot,  was putting a debuff on the bosses, and they were hitting for nothing. I don’t know much about Zealots, but I think every toon should be debuffing the bosses it, helps ALOT.

So a couple things of note. To get to the Skull Lord, you have to do the chain in Wing 1 Called “Blood on the Steps” AND the questline “Infinite Patience”

Terms of Strategies on the bosses, we just basically tanked and spanked and knocked it out of the park. Want more info Thulf over at StuntyStomper put a good walkthrough together. I urge you to check it out…here.

So I wanted to make sure credit is given where credit is due, if I spell your name wrong I’m sorry. Yulia (WE), Makhra(DOK), Grillik(BO), Shem(Zealot), Fazol(Sorc). Awesome job last night.

So what did I get.

Bloodlord Skullcase

Bloodlord Shoulderguards

With my Bloodlord Gauntlets, and Anni Boots.  That puts me to 4/5 wards. Hopefully soon I can head into the City Dungeons.

The Tanking Spec I will be trying lately

Posted in Warhammer- Online with tags , on January 14, 2009 by theerivs

Yeah…Yeah…Yeah. I spend more gold on Respecing then I do anything else. Well after some research, and reading. I am going to try this spec.

Tactics I’ll be using

Menace

Embrace the Winds

Crippling Strikes

Flawless Armor

Morales I will be using….

Level 1- Inevitable Changing

Level 2- Tzeentch’s Amplification

Level 3 – Sprout Carapace

Level 4 – Immaculate Defense

I respecced my renown to get some Initiative into the mix.

So all I need to do now is run some dungeons, get some better gear,  and hopefully Tank my butt off. Of course I’ll let you know how bad I suck…. ;)

Thee Tanking Spec

Posted in Uncategorized on January 13, 2009 by theerivs

This has me wondering, in World of Warcraft as a warrior there was a definative tanking spec. You either specced that way or your sitting on the sidelines almost gimping yourself.

As I look forward to doing some more PvE, In WAR is there a definitive tanking spec, tactics. If so I haven’t seen it yet. Everyday I see something new to respec to, thus wasting my gold.

So what is the definitive tanking spec in WAR, or is there?

Roll for Intitiave.

So I tossed some Renown Mastery Points to get a few levels of Impetus, and see what that does anything for me.  I think my crit avoidance is at 21.4% if I remember correctly.

Here is some of the gear I chose to look at.

I like this Da’Gorefang Carapace,  of course my top choice would be the Anni Carapace

This Axe looks to be the guy I want. No info on it where to get it really, but I do believe it’s a renown influence reward.

So we’ll see if initiative helps or not in the forthcoming weeks.

Vote early, Vote often.

Well thats the slogan here if your from Illinois, the home of honest politics. Seriously though. I was nominated for a greeny, I am up against some really good blogs, and seriously doubt I’ll win but do go by and vote for your favorite.

Greenies

I also want you to notice that my Blogroll has swollen due to epic proportions thanks to the Age of Blogging, theres some really talented authors that joined our ranks, and urge you to check some of them out. I also want to say never too late to join our army of bloggers.

I took part in some Open RvR this weekend, nothing to write home about, but one thing I noticed it seems that IronBreakers, and Black Orcs are harder to hit. Is it just me?

Some things I want to take a look at this coming week is Inititiave. I heard this stat makes you harder to be critted upon, and when dealing with bosses in bile/bloodwrought thats a good thing.

This coming week, I will also be looking over end game gear, and where to get it.

I also working on a new mage in World of Warcraft, so I might post something on that as well.

Gaze upon my uberness mortals, and despair

Posted in Warhammer- Online on January 9, 2009 by theerivs

Well last night, with a little lack of sleep (I was a tosh late to work hehe), my Libram of Insight, and a whole lot of killing I attained Realm Rank 40. It’s like a weight has been lifted, like all the work I done lo these past few months have finally reached fruition.

Then I noticed I’m only Renown Rank 35, and that I was only half done. Now starts a different kind of grind. To be honest though I really like killing other players so I’m not dreading it. I’m actually looking forward to it.

I also looking forward to doing a little more PvE, like the city dungeons, as soon as I gear up doing Bastion Runs.

So I gotta say I’m really geeked up, and willing to get geared up.

Fortress Fix or is it?

Posted in Warhammer- Online with tags , on January 8, 2009 by theerivs

Well the blogosphere is abuzz with Mythics latest bit of News. So I won’t post too much about, or go into a long diatribe how I feel like it’s so much Hot Air blown in my direction.

Here’s a novel idea, get better servers, improve your code, and increase your bandwidth. Hey thats just me.

Somethings I find very…dubious with this solution.

- What are the numbers – Mythic isn’t giving numbers. ?

-  What if my Destro Warband, who on my server don’t have a whole heck of alot of healers, goes into a fortress with 3 healers not 40, and they get ported back to the Warcamp?…Hey Dead Warband ain’t that nice.

- What happened to Epic Battles?  This is WHAT the game was supposed to be designed for.

Maybe the numbers are still high, but they just want to limit the 31′s from clogging the fun for the 40′s, I don’t really know. But like my buddy at Wizard and Witches says it feels like a Duct Tape solution
