A little bummed.

Well first off not many people showed up to my BS run yesterday, so it had to be cancelled. That’s not what I’m bummed about. I don’t need anything in there, except I want the Bloodlord Chestpiece to complete my set. My main goal was to gear up any alts that my Alliance might have. That’s ok, I’ll try again next Wendsday.

What I am bummed about is the 1.2 changes for Chosen. Here they are.

Bug fixes:
* Relentless: This ability will now behave correctly when interrupted.
* Dreadful Fear: This ability will now continue after zoning.
* Corrupting Wrath: This ability will now continue after zoning.
* Discordant Instability: This ability will now continue after zoning.
* Guard: This ability will now continue after zoning.
* Discordant Fluctuation: This ability will now continue after zoning.
* Corrupting Retribution: This ability will now continue after zoning.
* Dreadful Agony: This ability will now continue after zoning.
* Dreadful Terror: This ability will now continue after zoning.
* Corrupting Horror: This ability will now continue after zoning.
* Discordant Turbulence: This ability will now continue after zoning.
* Challenge: This ability no longer requires an enemy target.
* Dire Shielding: This Tactic will no longer cause Bane Shield to stack when
multiple Chosen in the same group use the ability.
* Tzeenchs Reflection: The beneficial portion of this ability will no longer be
removed by any ability that removes Silence. The Silencing portion of this ability
will continue to be removed as normal.

Balance Changes:
Auras will no longer aggro monsters that are not already in combat. Auras can no longer be dodged, blocked, parried, or disrupted. Auras that deal damage now deal Spirit damage.

Hate from auras which affect all group-mates will now be credited to the individual group members, instead of all to the Chosen themselves.

Blast Wave: This ability will now deal Spirit Damage. Additionally, this ability will no longer lower the target’s resistances, but will instead lower the target’s Wounds.

Quake: This ability will now deal Spirit Damage.

Discordant Fluctuation: This ability will now deal more damage. Additionally, the damage effect on Discordant Fluctuation will now only trigger a maximum of once per 2 seconds per character affected.

Corrupting Retribution: This ability will now heal for slightly more.

Dreadful Terror: This ability now removes slightly more Action Points from the victims.

Tooth of Tzeentch: This ability’s bonus damage will now deal Spirit Damage.

Bane Shield: This ability will now deal Spirit Damage. Additionally, the damage effect on Bane Shield will now only trigger a maximum of once per 2 seconds per character affected.

Touch of Palsy: This ability will now deal Spirit Damage.

Corrupting Horror: This ability will now disorient targets by 25%.

Impenetrable Armor: This ability will now absorb more armor.

That’s what I’m bummed out about. They are nerfing Corrupting Horror, and Bane Shield as you can see in the bold, also a change to our hate generation which we sorely need.

I really don’t know how i feel about everything being spirit damage now. Do I have to increase my INT now?

Well the good news is they really can’t nerf us anymore..can they?

  1. […] Way of the Chosen talked about the changes for the Chosen […]

  2. Well, considering it was the Chosen community that asked for the nerf to On Your Guard, I’m not really all that surprised that some of thier own Chosen auras got the same nerf.

I’m not sure if the stat scaling and damage type of an ability are decoupled, but I think they are.

With the buff to all melee because of the new changes to disorients, I think it would be wise to take a ‘wait-and-see’ stance on this, because there are more than quite a few across-the-board changes.

  3. You Chosen got nailed pretty hard :/ It’s still in testing though, so things can always change. Also, there were a LOT of balance changes in general – things may not be as bad as they may seem.

  4. The disorient change is across the board, to all classes with the debuff, so that was expected. As others have said, damage type is irrelevent of the stat associated with the damage dealt. You will still be useing STR to determine your damage.

  5. Spirit damage isn’t a bad thing, our dps against tank will get better, it should stay pretty much the same against melee dps and melee heal. Casters will benefit from it tho.

Also, it’s a shame that nobody is talking about the wound debuff on blast wave. This is a serious buff isn’t it?

  6. Holy crap that slipped under my radar Seidel, wow your right. Now I’m a little more pleased.
