Age of Blogging: A little look back.

Posted in Warhammer- Online with tags on January 30, 2009 by theerivs

As this month comes to a close, I sit in amazement. My cup runneth over, my blogroll is huge. When Syp approached his fellow bloggers about this, I thought yeah we should get one or two more blogs into the fold. Never in my wild dreams did I think that that people would answer the call like they did.

There is some amazing talent, my eyes are bleeding I’m reading so much these days.  I want to welcome officially all the new bloggers, and apologize if I was remiss in adding you the blogroll, as I’m sure one or 20 slipped through my tenuous grasp, or maybe it was my alcohol laden brain cells. In either case if I did miss you, don’t take it to heart, just let me know. I’ll fix that, and add you toot sweet.

I also want to thank my fellow bloggers who helped this endeavour, without them I wouldn’t be here. It’s from you that I derive my inspiration. This experiment of a blog, turned into something bigger, and from it  I become better, not just as a writer, but as a player. It also gave me a chance to meet some wonderful new people from all over the world.

Last but never least I want to thank the people that read this blog. I picked the title Way of the Chosen, not just it’s the class I play or love. Chosen means to me special, selected by a higher power, set apart from others. In some way that in the fact your reading my words, that you have chosen me.  When I say ‘Way’  is that I feel it is a path, a path that we all follow you as well as me.  That this is a journey, not only through the realms of War, but it is our journey as a community. A journey as we play this game we fell in love with.  A journey I hope you continue to take with me into the future. As we spread Change unto the world of WAR.

So from the bottom of my soulless Chosen heart thank you all, and let us unleash Chaos for all eternity!!!!

Riddle me this Batman…

Well the land of WAR is all abuzz as to the new events, Thulf got a lot of info.  Mythic did ask for my snail mail address. I have been checking my mail daily, as of yet nothing. I’ll check it today, see if I got anything.  I think we can safely say new classes incoming, and some new dungeons.  A Darkness Fall type dungeon would be purely awesomeness if that is true.

Last night I went into Bilerot. That place seems buggy as hell sometimes. My Guard wasn’t working correctly. All the plaguebeasts were kinda easy to take down, except one was a Superbeast, and wiped us.  I know this isn’t a PvE game, but when wierd things happen it kinda irksome.

Hopefully this will get better.  Though I love RvR, when I get a good group together I do enjoy my PvE.

Addendum: Looks like things are official….Press Release. Get to the Choppa!!

Day off.

Well I ain’t going to post much today. Going to the Metallica concert tonight.

Might be a little tomorrow, well lets say under the weather, and when I say under weather I mean hungover so I don’t really know if there will be a post tomorrow.

But I’ve set up shop in Praag, trying to get this. Almost there….almost.

Not much shield love around, but you gotta love that one.

Wow the difference…

So this weekend, I got my final lesser ward gear, the Annihilator Carapace.

So that’s 4 Bloodlord pieces, and the Carapace. Man I solo tanked Bloodwrought, what a difference when you have 5/5 wards. I really look forward to heading in there more, and getting some Sentinal gear. I still want my final piece of Bloodlord.

I had a run in with a CSR this weekend. I went in to kill the Skull Lord, and the quest you needed was a Chosen Spear quest item. It fricking disappeared from my inventory. So I got it back from the CSR which was cool. CSR said, ” Is there anything else I can do for you?”  I said, “Yeah you can get me the Bloodlord Chestpiece”  CSR replied, “Is that a quest reward?”

Now when those angel and devil appear on your shoulders telling you what you should say. My honest nature won out though, ” I said no it’s a drop, I was kidding.”  But I wonder what would of happened if I went down the dark side path.

I hear they have cookies there.

The announcement.

Corp Resists for Dungeons

Posted in Warhammer- Online with tags , on January 23, 2009 by theerivs

I am seriously thinking of slapping some Corp resist talismans into my set, instead of wounds to see if it helps or not. From what I have been reading it has.  I’m just really worried about loss of wounds.

I think Chosen Armor really needs to be reitemized, some of the stuff is pure crap. The Elite stuff from the Bastion Stair was so crappy, it almost made me weep.

I see armor with Willpower, and think in theory it would be awesome to just have a Caster Killer with high amount of Willpower to disrupt the casters, but that’s just theory for now, and being in the I.T. Industry I’ve learned Theory, and Reality seldom meet, and when they do it’s even more seldom very pretty.

Some Love..

I want to give a special thanks to Warhammer Alliance for showing yours truly some Love.

I use the forums religiously, whether it be looking up info, or goading order with my witty comments to come out of their hidey hole to come kill me.

So Thanks WA.

Skulls for the Skull Throne!

Posted in Warhammer- Online with tags , on January 22, 2009 by theerivs

Last night me and a bunch of people from the guild Jaded Souls went in and faced Skull Lord Var’throk.

I would say one of thee hardest fights I faced. The people I went in with were proper villians indeed. Went in with Mahkra (DOK), Grillik (BO, who is in another awesome guild Rolling Thunder), Shaem ( Zealot), Fazol (Sorc), and Yulia (WE). Then there was me a Chosen. It took us a couple tries to learn the fight. I don’t think this fight Wards matter, because Grillik is decked out in Sentinal, and still hitting like a Mack Truck

Tips –

1. Have your Tank stand next to the edge of the Arena. Skull Lord kicks hard. Having him stand next to a wall helped ALOT.

2. Make sure you use some Elemental Resists that seemed to help a tad, also a zealot debuff helps alot too.

3. The Skull Lord releases 3 hounds every so often, their normal mobs, but can cause havoc among the healers though. Have your second tank taunt them off the squishies.

4. Make sure your guards are on.

It was a rough battle, but Mahkra got his bloodlord chest, and I got my bloodlord boots from an earlier boss that evening, not Skull Lord. So now I’m 4/5 Bloodlord, damn it I want that chest, and title. So me and the Skull Lord are going to be very good friends indeed.

I’m finding that this combo really is effective. BO, DOK, Zealot, Sorc, WE, Chosen for 6 manning things. Either that or we just work well as team as individuals, or were just so fricking awesome.

I like to think were just really awesome. 🙂

Impressions of Bloodwrought

Posted in Warhammer- Online with tags on January 21, 2009 by theerivs

Simply that I love it. It’s a wham, bam, thank you ma’am

The bosses are little buggy, but if you go in with a good group shouldn’t take long at all.  I went in with Lomigaron (Chosen), Lita ( Sorc), Astei (DoK), Puddleduck (Shaman), and Dogfreud ( Magus)

First boss actually reset on us, and we had to kill him and the musician twice. But it was easy as hell.

Second boss bugged out once, and I had to learn the strat a bit, but once I got the hang of the kiting him around. It was a piece of pie. That’s right I said it, Pie. I like pie.

Thulf over at Stunty Stomper, got some info for ya. If you need it.

It’s a nice short instance, and my group got some loot.  I’m wondering though the right wing, we didn’t go down. Why is there no loot? No hidden secrets down that path?

Edit: Thulf answered my question for me, on that link in the comments section. Thanks Thulf

Impressions of Bilerot.

Posted in Warhammer- Online with tags , on January 20, 2009 by theerivs

Ok let me start off by saying, I’m huge fan of Nurgle, and his bile spewing minions. I loved them since the beginning when I fielded an army of plague marines.

So I was geeked up to go into Bilerot Burrows, and see what Nurgle can pit against my skills, and the skills of my guildies.  I went in with a guild group consisting of Lomilgaron, or Lomi for short (Fellow Chosen), Whynot (Zealot), Lita ( Sorc), Debdoes (Witch Elf), and Shaddough (DoK).

This being the harder dungeon, and some of us being our first time in there I think we did a fabulous job, Only a few wipes, and some problem with second boss, and one with the last.

The hardest thing was a mob, I think it’s called plague hound, where me and Lomi kited him around.

The first boss, was pure tank and spank. Easy as heck.   Second boss, not so easy. The problem with him was finding our groove to kill the nurglings that popped. Once that was acheived we got him down.  The third boss,we wiped once, but after that we got our groove down too. Tip of the day: Stick and move.

Sure PvE isn’t as polished as WoW, but you know what I had some real fun.  It helps the group you went with has been playing MMO’s with you for years I’m sure.  I also want to say thanks to Lomi my faith in Chosen being the main tank has been restored. I wanted to say thanks to my guildies, and hope that we go in there again to tear it up.  I’m so ready for Bloodwrought.

Want more info on Bilerot. Thulf has some more info for you on Stunty Stomper.

There is a rumor, I call it a rumor and not gospel truth, well  I doubt the source, but sometimes rumors have kernals of truth. So I will post it.
